Lockdown day forty five: Mother’s Day, my driftwood gate of dreams! Only taken a few years to get it made! A yummy bacon muffin for brunch and dinner with the Turners.
Stage one of the much talked about “tree†house complete! He girls loved the platform and spent all afternoon up there. Now we got to start on stage two - the actual house!
Bunk building in one day. $400 of timber, sketchup plan, father son duo and voila! Top bunk is built. The girls are super excited, mummy is sad Iris is moving out of her room but onwards and upwards! Now to whitewash the bunk.... in oh 2 years most likely!
My cheap $20 'old lady rose arch' wasn't built to last and blowing with the wind and I was at a lost what to do but randomly our Neighbour was getting rid of their super heavy duty one so all solved! I have finally managed to make my top tier garden with hostas around the cherry tree. Job satisfaction, tick.
And the back fence & planter is finally completed! Tops on the fence and planter are on (unfortunately at the loss of half a peonies due to a wayward saw). Only waiting on the plants to put in the planter now.
Pixels room is finally feeling like a real bedroom again with the carpet relaid and the wardrobe door on. Just cleaning, painting, curtains and furnishing left!
We have vegetables! And a semi working sprinkler system. Sweet corn, tomatoes, rhubarb, eggplant, courgette, cucumber, chillis, sugar snap peas so far. A bit of an experiment this year.
We came home to a new gibbed wall and a study nook! Very exciting. There was still a special olive size door available for doing house circuits. Just. Great job Prosser/pecks boys.
Tom got stuck into demo day! Got the old walldrobe down and out, in a lot less time than it took me to clear out the contents. Then he cut a 20cm square in the wall and decided he needed a snooze. By the time we got home from our walk in the drizzle one side was gone! What have we done!!! Eek. Good job honey ;-)
A beautiful blue & still day, what better way to spend the early hours hanging out our washing on the new clothes line! Great job daddy and uncle G Dog.
The drain proves it's worth - as it diverts the torrent of water away from under the house. Quite chuffed we are feeling today after a torrential downpour puts it to the test. Here's hoping the office stays dry!
