The waterfront. Where we usually lived, under the shade of an umbrella with a beer in hand. Ahh, the life. Day one in Split - a tasty sammy on the waterfront. On the way up the narrow bell tower stair case. The view from half-way up. Already impressive. It was a little on the rickety side! Just don't look down! Hot, sweaty and pasty at the top. The view from the top was incredible. Bell tower of the cathedral of Saint Doimus. The bell tower is Split's main symbol. Cute house in Split's old town. The awesomist statue we've ever seen. Gandalf perhaps? Not Gandalf but in fact, Gregory of Nin. We just had to rub his toe. And clean his toenails. There, nice and clean. My ice-cream took a nose dive into my shorts. Hence the wet patch. Honest! A tasty drop of local lager. We took the espresso many a time and they were damn tasty too. View from the harbour from where we would eventually set sail from. Captain tries to steal the shot. This time he succeeds! Lunch on day two after the arrival of everyone. Our trolly load of supplies. For some reason the thin wharfs weren't designed to handle a trolly load of food and booze. It was a three man job. But we made it. Now, I wonder if the trolly can fit down the plank? Our home for the next 7 days! The Nautitech 40. Andy pops out of his escape hatch. Some of the crew - Jess, Tanya, Kate, Ben and Josh. Gini, Nicky Captain Beer A tasty rose with a beautiful sunset behind. First morning on the boat - and we've set sail! Skip, as he was affectionately known. A local skipper who was pretty bloody awesome. Hmm. Petar Hektorovic - a Croatian writer. At Stari Grad on Hvar island. 4 different types of awesome fish for dinner. Basking in the sun. Suck it in Andy! Hold it! Now say cheese! Second stop on the voyage - Hvar town, on Hvar Island. The view from the top of the castle was spectacular. Another beautiful sunset. Another night on the drinks! A lamb feast for all. Oops. Someone never saw the island coming. Ahoy there! Snoozing in the cabin. We swam through this rock. On the other side was a cute little cafe offering instant coffee and water. Tom, climbing the cliff of death. Plummeting to the sea below. Josh and Marcus row in circles on their way to the blue cave. Our turn was next. The tiny entrance to the blue cave. Inside the blue cave it was all .... surprisingly blue! Lounging on one of the many pebbly beaches. A spot of mini golf. Where Gini beat Tom, again. Hole in one! This night they took us on a windy drive out to a remote farm and the best dinner ever. Donkey! They treat their donkeys well. And even let them travel for free. Donkey is near the front. Snoozing on the boat hammock. Snoozing all round. Another view - possibly from Vis? Any and Nicky Josh and Kate Jess and Marcus Andy get's a ... pizza? All stuffed after another tasty night out. We frantically tried to prevent a German boat from ramming us a second time .... Squishy! Our happily hanging mascot. Skip rows back from telling off the Germans. Gini - the first to catch a fish! Tom has no such luck. Josh opts for a different method of fishing. Marcus lands a huge one. A scary sight, if ever I saw one. We were put with the big boats on our last night - it was very rocky! Group shot - take 1. Group shot - take 2. Group shot - take 3.
