A room with a view. On the train to Nong Khai with our own room! A nice suprise - but explains why our tickets were 1300 baht each! Depart in 25 mins, arrive in 12.5 hours. Should be fun.

Made it to nong khai. 15 hour train! Not sure why it was 3 hours late. Very quiet and peaceful here for a change. Lunch time - we're starving!

Crazy bus station at nong khai. Waiting for 10.40 bus to take us to Ubon Ratchathani down the Mekong. First bus experience so wish us luck!

Another bus day today. Our bus tickets to Ubon Ratchathani from Nakhon Phanom. Stayed here last night - a relatively english speaking free town with views of Laos' mountain ranges.

Today we fly from Ubon to Bangkok then onto Phuket. Leaving the east and venturing to the south of Thailand. Both looking forward to some beach side relaxation.

Today we both got tatoo's. It's ok mum's - they will wash off over the next few weeks :). We bus and ferry to Ko Samui tomorrow morning for our final week in the sun.

Just pulling into Ko Samui on the ferry after 10 hours of bus, waiting and ferry. Exhausting, but after a 45 min taxi ride we should be in paradise. And eating. So hungry!
